TRENTON — A man bleeding from a stab wound walked into police headquarters Thursday night seeking help, police said.
The 32-year-old man, who was stabbed in the back and suffered a collapsed lung, was in critical but stable condition today, Lt. Mark Kieffer said.
Police first found out about the stabbing when the victim walked into the lobby of headquarters on North Clinton Avenue at 9:52 p.m.
He was bleeding from the back where police believe he was stabbed with a knife, Kieffer said.
He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The victim was not forthcoming with information, but officers were able to find the likely scene of the stabbing on the 100 block of Monmouth Street.
Blood was found on the street, Kieffer said.
Medical staff at the hospital had the victim sedated today, and police were unable to talk to him further. The case remains under investigation.
