The Saturday night shooting left both victims with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, police said .
HAMILTON — Two Trenton residents were shot Saturday night while attempting to drive away from Bromley Park, where they said they were accosted by a group of men, according to police.
Police have some questions about the story told by the couple, who said they were in a car at the park at around 9:30 p.m. when a group of eight men blocked their passage and a shot was fired.
"We're going to have to sit everybody down and talk to everyone about it," Capt. Remo DiPaolo said.
The 44-year-old man and 38-year-old woman said they were in a car with the woman behind the wheel when one of the men in the group produced a handgun. As the woman sped off with the man in the passenger seat, the suspect allegedly fired a shot.
Police said the two victims were struck by the same bullet. It went through the man’s left arm, through the woman’s right arm and in and out of her right side, police said.
No arrests have been made, and a full description of the suspects was not immediately available.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Detective Robert Diszler at (609) 581-4041 or the anonymous tip line at (609) 581-4008.
