Isaiah Harris, 26, admitted to possessing three guns, including a semi-automatic rifle, despite having a conviction for drug distribution on his record.
TRENTON — A Trenton man pleaded guilty in federal court today to a weapons possession charge that could land him 10 years in prison, officials said.
Isaiah Harris, 26, admitted to possessing three guns, including a semi-automatic rifle, despite having a conviction for drug distribution on his record, the U.S. Attorney’s office for New Jersey said in a statement.
Trenton police entered the Stuyvesant Avenue residence where Harris was living in November 2012 to execute an unrelated warrant for his arrest.
Police encountered Harris in a second floor bedroom and found two semi-automatic rifles and a revolver, the statement said.
Harris had been shot just two weeks before his arrest, police have said.
Harris entered a guilty plea before Judge Michael Shipp of being a convicted felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.
The charge carries a maximum potential penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He is scheduled for sentencing in March.
