TRENTON — A young man was shot and killed tonight on the 300 block of North Clinton Avenue in Trenton, police said.
Trenton police responded to a call of a man down at 8:36 p.m. and found the victim dead with a gunshot wound, said Lt. Steve Varn. Police said that the victim was a young black male, but could not identify him further.
The victim was found in front of a house on a North Clinton Avenue block across from a row of warehouses and about a quarter-mile up the street from Trenton police headquarters.
Police cordoned off the street between Hart Avenue and Oak Street and Police Director Ralph Rivera Jr. was at the scene. A crowd gathered around the area blocked off by police, but no one said that they had seen anything.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is handling the investigation into the shooting, Varn said.
