The teen was shot dead about 400 yards from police headquarters on North Clinton Avenue.
TRENTON - Officials today identified the victim of the city's latest homicide as a 17-year-old city resident.
Shamere Melvin, who lived on Princeton Avenue, was shot dead on the 300 block of North Clinton Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m. City police, whose headquarters building is a short distance away on North Clinton Avenue, responded and found Melvin shot at least once.
Melvin was pronounced dead at the scene, police said last night.
No motive or suspect information was immediately available.
