EAST WINDSOR — An East Windsor man who was the victim of an armed home invasion robbery last week has been missing since yesterday at 2 p.m. under what police are calling suspicious circumstances.

Carlos Reyes, 22, was last seen in his East Windsor residence at 2 p.m. wearing a black leather jacket with a grey hood, blue jeans and black Converse sneakers, East Windsor police said.

Reyes, who is 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, was the victim of an armed home invasion and robbery on Jan. 31, police said, but they said it is unknown at this time whether that is related to his disappearance.

East Windsor police also would not confirm that Reyes was the same man as the 22-year-old who was beaten and tied up with duct tape during a Jan. 31 home invasion robbery that they reported last week.

In that report, East Windsor police said three suspects forced their way into an apartment at the Princeton Arms North I complex, where they bound the 22-year-old victim.

The suspects gained entry by first yelling the name of the 22-year-old’s stepfather while ringing the doorbell, then, when the 22-year-old opened the door, punching him in the face and knocking him to the floor, according to police.

They bound his hands and ankles with duct tape, and stole electronics and cash from the apartment, police said. After the suspects departed, the 22-year-old was able to loosen his restraints enough to get to a phone and call police. Three other people live in the apartment, but were not home at the time.

The reason they targeted the apartment remains unclear.

Anyone with any information concerning Reyes’ disappearance is asked to contact East Windsor police at (609) 448-5678.
