TRENTON - The county's homicide task force is investigating the shooting of a city man shot multiple times early this morning.
The 34-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was in critical condition but expected to survive his injuries. He was outside his apartment building on the 200 block of East Hanover Street around 2 a.m. when unknown suspects shot him, said Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman for the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
The victim was shot at least once in the head, said Lt. Mark Kieffer, a Trenton police spokesman.
Motive was not immediately clear in the case, and a suspect description was not available.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force, which includes detectives from the county, Trenton, West Windsor and the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, is investigating the case.
