Jerome Friedman Jr. was apprehended on the 2300 block of Whitehorse-Hamilton Square Road about 11:25 a.m.
HAMILTON — A 25-year-old man wanted on a warrant related to a motor vehicle theft and burglary out of the Trenton Police Department was arrested this morning after he physically assaulted an officer and led authorities on a foot chase, police said.
Jerome Friedman, Jr. was arrested on the 2300 block of Whitehorse-Hamilton Square Road about 11:25 a.m. by members of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, sheriff’s office spokesman Ernest Cerino Jr. said.
The joint task force located Friedman at a house on the 800 block of Estates Boulevard in Hamilton. Friedman tried to escape through the back door of the residence and attempted to physically assault an officer, Cerino said.
Friedman barricaded himself in a second-floor bedroom after running back into the house, then fled by diving about 17 feet through a second-floor window, Cerino said.
A pursuit on foot ensued, and Friedman was captured near the 2300 block of Whitehorse-Hamilton Square Road in Hamilton, Cerino said.
He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for treatment of injuries received from his fall. Cerino said Friedman's injuries are unknown at this time.
Friedman is further charged with resisting arrest and assault on a law enforcement officer, Cerino said.
Judge William Anklowitz set Friedman's bail this afternoon at $250,000 cash or bond, Cerino said.
