Charles Richards and Elizabeth Albertson, both 28, were already in custody for prior armed robbery arrests when they were charged Tuesday.

FLORENCE — A man and woman from Cinnaminson have been charged with the Jan. 27 armed robbery of Town Liquor in Florence, officials said today.

Charles Richards and Elizabeth Albertson, both 28, were already in custody for prior armed robbery arrests when they were charged Tuesday with the Florence holdup, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said.

An investigation revealed that Richards entered the Route 130 liquor store at about 6:45 p.m. and pointed a handgun at the store owner and an employee, the office said. The owner and employee moved away from the cash register and Richards removed an undisclosed amount of money, the office said.

Richards then fled the scene in a silver four-door mid-size car that was waiting outside, township police said. The prosecutor’s office has identified Albertson as the driver.

Richards and Albertson have now been charged with a total of seven robberies of gas stations, convenience stores and liquor stores in Florence, Maple Shade, Mount Laurel, Hainesport and Delran, the office said.

They also have been charged with four armed robberies in Camden County, bringing their total to 11 robberies, the office said.

Brian Hawthorne, a 26-year-old Cinnaminson man, also has been charged in eight of these robberies, but has not been implicated in the Florence robbery.

Bail for Richards has been set at $450,000, while Albertson and Hawthorne are each being held on $325,000 bail.
