A 24-year-old city man who was a passenger inside a car being driven at a slow speed out of a housing development Sunday evening was shot in the shoulder, police said today.
TRENTON — A 24-year-old city man who was a passenger inside a car being driven at a slow speed out of a housing development Sunday evening was shot in the shoulder, police said today.
The victim was in the passenger seat of a Cadillac being driven by another person on Fairway Drive about 7:40 p.m. A gunman waiting on the side of the roadway saw him, came up near the car and shot several times at the moving vehicle, police said.
One round hit the victim in his right shoulder blade, said Lt. Mark Kieffer, a police spokesman.
The driver of the Cadillac took the victim to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where doctors said the wound to the 24-year-old was not believed to be life-threatening, Kieffer said.
Officers who went out to Fairway Drive found no witnesses and no video of the shooting, but did discover 9 mm shell casings, police said.
The shooter in the case is described as a black male, dark complexion, 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
