The body of Raheim Hayes, 34, was found inside a Smith Street home, said Casey DeBlasio, spokeswoman for the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
TRENTON — Authorities have identified the man found dead with a gunshot wound in a city home Wednesday as a Browns Mills resident.
The body of Raheim Hayes, 34, was found inside a Smith Street home, said Casey DeBlasio, spokeswoman for the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities have not yet determined why he was in the home or what connections he may have to Trenton, she said.
Hayes died from a single gunshot wound, DeBlasio said, but the location of the wound on the body has not been disclosed.
No arrests were made as of last night, but authorities say a person of interest has been identified, meaning somebody who may have been involved in the crime or who may have information to help solve it.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is investigating the death and any possible connections to a different shooting earlier in the week on Smith Street that left a 22-year-old injured, she said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the task force at (609) 989-6406 or the Trenton Police Confidential Tip Line at (609) 989-3663.
