TRENTON — A city man was stabbed in the chest and hand last night by a group of young men who accosted him for no apparent reason, police said.
The 38-year-old victim was standing near the intersection of Genesee and Anderson streets around 8:20 p.m. when five men approached him and stabbed him in the chest, Lt. Mark Kieffer said. “He tried to fend them off and got cut in the left hand,” he said.
The men, who appeared to be between the ages of 20 and 30, then fled down South Clinton Avenue, he said.
The victim was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for minor stab wounds, he said.
Detective Ricardo Ramos is investigating the stabbing.
