A female employee of One Stop Check Cashing had just unlocked the doors at 9 a.m. when a male followed her into the store, police said.
BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP— A check cashing store on Route 206 was robbed this morning by a man who brandished a can of mace, police said.
A female employee of One Stop Check Cashing had just unlocked the doors at 9 a.m. when a male followed her into the store, police said.
Police said the man then grabbed the employee and threatened her with a can of mace, forcing her to open the store’s office area where he took cash out of a drawer.
Police said they are not releasing the amount of money that was stolen.
The employee saw the man flee the scene in a white Mazda sedan that had no rear license plate, police said.
The vehicle headed north on Route 206 toward Hamilton, police said.
The suspect was described as black, in his early to mid 20s, around 5 foot 6, with a slim build, police said. Police said he was wearing a gray or light black hooded sweatshirt.
Police said the employee was not injured.
