Police have not found a man who was reportedly hit during the shooting.
TRENTON — Shots were fired at the front of a city convenience store early this afternoon, police said.
Police were called out to the 800 block of Stuyvesant Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. for a shooting in which a man had been wounded in the arm, Lt. Tom Murphy said at the scene. But police checked area hospitals and found no reports of anyone walking in with a gunshot wound.
Two crime scenes had been cordoned off on Stuyvesant Avenue: one directly in front of the Rodriguez Mini-Market and New Home Liquors, the other across the street in a concealed alleyway. City police and Mercer County Sheriff’s officers were examining the scenes and picking up evidence.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call police at (609) 989-4170 or the Confidential Tip Line at (609) 989-3663.
