A 31-year-old East Windsor man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault for the alleged clubbing, and more arrests are expected soon.
A 31-year-old East Windsor man accused of striking a teenager with a wooden club during a brawl in a township park Friday has been charged with aggravated assault, police said today.
EAST WINDSOR – A 31-year-old East Windsor man accused of striking a teenager with a wooden club during a brawl in a township park Friday has been charged with aggravated assault, police said today.
During the fight, which started around 3 p.m. at the park on Westfield Road, a man and a teenage boy suffered lacerations to their torsos, police said. The brawl was reported to police, but the combatants were gone by the time officers arrived.
Pedro Lopez was later arrested and charged for his part in the assault, though police say more arrests are expected. Authorities did not say whether they believe Lopez caused either of the injuries to the reported victims, who were taken to the University Medical Center at Princeton and eventually released.
The police investigation is continuing.
