Police were searching for a driver of one of the cars who allegedly fled the scene.
TRENTON - Police this morning were searching for the driver of a dealership car who fled from the scene of a three-car, chain reaction accident that left a parked truck overturned an Auto Zone parking lot.
The Cadillac, reportedly from a nearby city dealership, was on South Broad Street when it struck a car attempting to make a left turn onto Dayton Street. That car's driver said he anticipated having enough time to make the turn safely.
"You think you're going to be able to make it...but you don't, you have like, two seconds," said Charlie, who did not wish to give his last name.
The Cadillac hit his car and went over the curb into the Auto Zone lot. It struck a Ford Ranger, which belongs to one of the store's employees, and knocked the truck on its side, they said.
At least five police SUVs were combing the area searching for the driver, who fled.
One of the passengers from the Cadillac was down on the pavement complaining of shoulder and neck pain, and he was taken to a local hospital by Trenton EMS.
Official accounts of the crash are expected to be available soon. There was no immediate word of charges or fault in the collision.
