Armed with a handgun, Little broke into a house on North Clinton Avenue in September 2011 and threatened the couple living there before robbing them.
TRENTON — A teen who stole two televisions, a video game console, a cell phone and a container full of coins was sentenced to six years in prison today.
Elijah Little, 19, pleaded guilty to burglary in December, after his case was waived up from juvenile court.
Armed with a handgun, Little broke into a house on North Clinton Avenue in September 2011 and threatened the couple living there before robbing them.
Police said that when Little was caught he admitted to using the same gun in another robbery three days before.
Little’s attorney Michael Amantia said part of the reason his client committed the robbery was because he thought it was expected of him.
“I believe that the peer pressure he was under was a contributing factor to these offenses,” Amantia said.
Amantia said after Little is released from prison he will go to North Carolina to live with his mother.
Little will have to serve just over five years of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
Little has no prior adult convictions but has been through the juvenile court turnstile six times.
