PLAINSBORO — A simmering dispute between two groups of men turned violent in an office park last week, as three of the men armed with baseball bats attacked the others and smashed out their car windows, police said.
None of the injuries to the three victims was believed to be life-threatening, and they were able to get in their cars and flee the scene on College Road East during the attack the night of March 19, Lt. Joseph Duffy said.
“They departed the scene and called the police,” he said.
Officers who arrived shortly afterward found the three suspects near the crime scene and arrested them. All of the men are maintenance workers employed by Princeton Forrestal Village, police said. It is not believed the dispute was connected to their jobs.
Plainsboro men Oscar Arandi and Rony Reyes, both 31, and 22-year-old Gerber Esau-Reyes, an East Windsor resident, were charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. They were being held in the Middlesex County Correction Center on $100,000 bail.
One of the victims had to be taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for treatment of a broken cheek bone and a deep cut to his arm, police said.
Police did not say why the victims and suspects were together on College Road East, but stressed the attack was connected to the dispute and not a random crime. During the incident, a 2006 Toyota Scion had $5,000 worth of damage that included broken windows, shattered windshield, smashed sunroof, dents and a ransacked interior, while a 1999 BMW 328 had $2,000 in damage, including broken windows, dents and a shattered windshield, according to police.
