TRENTON — Two city men are facing charges of robbery and carjacking for assaulting a city man before driving off in his vehicle, prosecutors said at a hearing this week.
A Superior Court judge maintained bail for both Daquan Rivera, 18, and Dashawn Smith-Murphy, 19, at $250,000 at a hearing on Tuesday.
Prosecutors said that the 27-year-old victim identified Rivera and Smith-Murphy at the scene and told police that the two teens approached him while he was in his 2005 Dodge Magnum in the area of Firth Street and North Clinton Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. on March 15.
Rivera and Smith-Murphy allegedly punched the man in the face, pulled him out of the car and drove off, prosecutors said.
The man suffered visible injuries to his face including a swollen left eye, prosecutors said.
