Two 18-year-olds from Freehold and Manalapan were charged with marijuana possession.
EAST WINDSOR — Two people were arrested Sunday after an officer who stopped their car on Route 130 found cupcakes made of marijuana, and a search uncovered a jar of pot and other drug paraphernalia, police said.
Officer Michael Adelung pulled over the at 10:50 p.m. after he saw the vehicle driving erratically, and found a box of cupcakes he believed were made with cannabis, police said.
“They were giving off a strong marijuana odor,” Lt. Rich Bernstein said today . “And there was an admission by one of the suspects.”
A grinder, two smoking pipes and the glass jar of marijuana were also seized, police said.
Ryan Fleischer, 18, of Freehold and Kimberly Lombardi, 18, of Manalapan were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Fleischer and Lombardi were released on their own recognizance pending a court date.
