HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP — A Cream Ridge man arrested earlier this month as part of a six-county burglary ring was charged with theft Thursday after he stole cash from his employer, township police said.

Adam B. Laczny, 26, worked at Davis Beverage Group on Pennington Road. While an employee there, Laczny allegedly stole cash from the officer of the business.

Laczny was arrested April 15 by New Jersey State Police following an investigation by troopers into numerous commercial break-ins throughout Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, Burlington, Atlantic, and Sussex counties.

Three others were arrested in what the State Police said was an organized system where lookouts, burglars and getaway drivers coordinated their movements via walkie-talkies.

The group targeted restaurants, bars and doctors’ offices, stealing coins and cash and even some alcohol, the State Police said.

Laczny was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and held on $10,000 bail. He was charged with theft April 25 in connection with the incident in Hopewell, processed at police headquarters and released.
