Sculley said Griffith “assisted in part of the planning and after actions in trying to get rid of the evidence.”
FLORENCE — A Trenton man who allegedly helped plan the robbery of a Roma Bank branch on Route 130 was taken into custody last week, making him the fifth suspect to be arrested in the case, police said.
Kamar Griffith, 23, was arrested Wednesday after Mercer County Sheriff’s Officers encountered him as they raided a home in Trenton as part of an unrelated investigation, Florence Township Police Chief Alvin Sculley said yesterday. Griffith had warrants out for his arrest from Florence.
Sculley said Griffith “assisted in part of the planning and after actions in trying to get rid of the evidence.” He is charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and receiving stolen property.
On April 26, a man wearing a long wig and sunglasses walked into the Roma Bank at about 11:40 a.m. and demanded money, police said. He passed a note to the teller that threatened violence.
In the three days following the robbery, police arrested James Bridges, 20, of Philadelphia, who was allegedly the robber, along with Shalita Henderson, 21, and Michael Williford, 23, both of Trenton, and Vanessa Pacini, 20 of Bordentown Township, who allegedly conspired in the robbery.
Griffith is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said.
