TRENTON — A city man who allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend’s brother to death was indicted on murder charges last week.

David Noncent, 41, allegedly stabbed 26-year-old Courtney Levine in the chest outside a North Trenton home on Dec. 4. Police said Levine bled to death internally when his lung was pierced.

The state grand jury also indicted Noncent on weapons offenses.

Prosecutors said the stabbing occurred when Noncent visited the North Trenton home where Levine lived with his sister. Levine confronted Noncent about an alleged history of domestic violence involving Levine’s sister and chased him from the house, prosecutors said.

The case continued outside as both men ran around the house, and when they met out front of the home Noncent stabbed Levine, prosecutors said.

Noncent, a registered sex offender with 14 felony convictions, has denied the allegations.

He remains in the Mercer County Correction Center in lieu of $1 million.
