MONROE — Township police and the FBI are seeking a man who robbed a bank at the Concordia shopping center yesterday afternoon.
No weapon was shown or implied during the hold-up, Monroe Lt. Marc Jimenez said today.
Police said the man walked into the PNC bank branch, which is inside a Shop & Stop supermarket on Perrineville Road, shortly after 5 p.m. He gave the teller a note demanding money and the teller surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect ran out of the bank and to the south out of the parking lot.
Authorities described the robber as a white male, 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 10 inches tall, of medium build, and wearing a red Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap and gray hoodie with an “ECKO” logo in white. Police and the FBI are working to release an image of the suspect to the public.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Monroe Detective Brian Dziomba at (732) 521-0222, ext. 147 or the FBI’s Newark division at (973) 792-3000.
