A judge maintained William Nobles’ bail at $1 million
TRENTON — A city man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death earlier this month will face murder and weapons charges, prosecutors said.
William Nobles, 40, was living with his girlfriend, Celeste Pernell, 54, in Trenton when he stabbed her upwards of 18 times, Assistant Prosecutor Michelle Gasparian said today.
“Ms. Pernell was killed in an especially violent way,” Gasparian said.
Police received a call from a Camden resident on June 2 saying that Nobles killed Pernell. They went to Pernell’s home and found her dead, Gasparian said.
Superior Court Judge Mark Fleming maintained Nobles’ bail at $1 million and ruled that there must be a hearing to determine the source of the bail money if it is posted.
