TRENTON — Police are investigating after a city man was stabbed in the hand early Saturday morning by a suspect demanding cash, officials said.
Lt. Tom Murphy said that the victim was in front of his residence in the 200 block of South Clinton Avenue around 2:49 a.m. when he was approached by a man demanding money.
The suspect brandished a small knife, which he subsequently used to stab the victim in the hand as he told the assailant he had no money to give him. Police said the victim then ran away from his home as he called police for help.
Murphy said the victim was transported to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment. Police searched the area but did not turn up any suspects or witnesses, he said.
