TRENTON — A Bloods gangster scheduled to be in court today for a hearing on his indictment for manslaughter was arrested while fleeing from the scene of a shooting Tuesday night, police said.

Curtis Brittingham, 24, was indicted just last week in connection with the stabbing death of Tito Glover outside a North Trenton bar in 2009. Brittingham, who was arrested in February, has been out on $500,000 bail.

City police were combing the area of Southard Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard around 9 p.m. Tuesday after receiving 911 calls that shots were fired in the area. As they searched, a van carrying Brittingham allegedly came speeding out of the Donnelly Homes housing project, Sgt. Tony Manzo said.

Detectives pulled the van over and discovered Brittingham had a number of outstanding warrants for his arrest, Manzo said. Brittingham was arrested, along with Bloods member Keon Williamson who was also riding inside the vehicle. No weapons were found.

It is unclear whether the arrest will affect his manslaughter case, or bail.

In June, Brittingham was shot along with another man while at a Ewing fried chicken restaurant. It was unclear whether he was targeted.

Brittingham is set to be in Superior Court today for a status conference in the manslaughter case.
