Patrick McFarlane held up a group of men during a dice game and killed Richard Mason.
TRENTON — Patrick McFarlane was found guilty today of killing a man who was playing dice and robbing him as he lay dying in the street in May 2008.
After a five day trial, the this afternoon found McFarlane, 24, guilty of murder, felony murder, armed robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon in the death of Richard Mason, a 44-year-old construction worker from Bordentown.
Prosecutors said McFarlane walked up to a group of men playing dice on the street and pulled out a gun. When everyone fled, McFarlane chased after Mason, shooting him three times as he ran away.
The jury spent this morning rehearing the testimony of three witnesses who were in court earlier this week, including McFarlane’s alleged accomplice, Roderick Armstrong.
McFarlane is is scheduled to be sentenced in September and faces at least 30 years in prison.
