"They yanked the one girl by the throat and kidnapped her, and the one guy says to the other guy, 'Get the other girl, too,'" Michelle Chionchilla, the mother of one of the girls involved in the incident, said.

TRENTON — A city underage drinking and drug party where teens were victims of a home invasion that led to one girl being kidnapped early Wednesday remains under investigation by police.

The armed home invasion allegedly led to the sexual assault of a 15-year-old Toms River girl who attended the party, according to a mother of another of the three teenage girls who was present. Michelle Chionchilla said that her daughter told her the teenage friend was assaulted by more than one of the suspects. Police would not comment on any potential sex assault investigation.

A small group of teens from Trenton, Hamilton and Toms River were gathered inside a home on the first block of West Paul Avenue early Wednesday, drinking alcohol and doing drugs there, police said.

“There was some type of underage party going on there,” Lt. Mark Kieffer said.

Around 2 a.m., five to six young men, one of them armed, forced their way in with guns. They removed cash and several cell phones, took the 15-year-old, and fled, Kieffer said. Officers were called out minutes later on a report of a burglary in progress.

Later that morning, the 15-year-old was found at the Roadrunner gas station on Brunswick Avenue by a good Samaritan, who drove her back to Toms River. When police interviewed her, the story quickly became “convoluted,” Toms River Lt. Richard Ross said.

The good Samaritan who drove the teen home to Toms River was arrested by police there for warrant violations but is not believed to have been involved in the home invasion, Kieffer said.

Details given to Chionchilla by her daughter appear to mostly align with the police report.
Prior to the home invasion, some of the partiers left, Chionchilla said.

“They went to get food,” Chionchilla said. “They come back and there was the vehicle full of the men.”

“They were talking to them asking them if they want drugs, calling them ‘babe,'” she added.

The young men in the vehicle then forced their way into the house.

“The guy whose sister’s house it was, opens the door,” Chionchilla said. “They beat him up really badly; they put a garbage can over his head.”

“Then they were running all over the house, robbing the house,” she added.

Chionchilla’s daughter had a gun pointed at her head by the armed suspect, who asked if anyone was upstairs. Then the other suspects allegedly robbed her, Chionchilla said.

“They were choking my daughter by her neck ... they took her brand new iPhone5,” Chionchilla said.

“They yanked the one girl by the throat and kidnapped her and the one guy says to the other guy, 'Get the other girl, too,'” she said.

“I felt really bad for the girl,” she added.

Full descriptions of the five to six teenage suspects were not available. No arrests have been made. Detective Wil Rodriguez is investigating.
