The man was found in his home shortly after 1:30 a.m. today, police said.
TRENTON — A city man was found beaten to death in his home early this morning, police said.
Herbert Cummings, 47, was pronounced dead in his home on the 200 block of Rosemont Avenue at 1:12 a.m. today, Lt. Steve Varn said. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.
No arrests have been made.
The man's death is the city's 28th homicide of 2013 and the fifth killing in six days. Last year's total of 24 was surpassed this weekend. The city had a record 31 homicides in 2005.
