EWING — A township man was arrested Tuesday night after the car he was driving struck a police car during a chase that ended on the 600 block of Parkway Avenue, police said in a press release.Ewing police joined the pursuit of a 1998 Infiniti driven by 40-year-old Shawn Crawley at 10:13 p.m. The chase began in Morrisville, Pa., and continued into Trenton and Ewing, the release said.
Crawley, of Ewing, drove his car onto the lawn of the Parkway Gardens Apartments and it slid into the front of a patrol car driven by Officer Christopher Boller, the release said.
Crawley’s car continued to slide sideways across the grass and onto Parkway Avenue. He drove for a few blocks before stopping the car and trying to run on foot.
Crawley was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, eluding, resisting arrest, obstruction and disorderly conduct. He was unable to post the $50,000 bail and was taken to Mercer County Correctional Facility.
It’s unclear what charges, if any, he will face from Trenton and Morrisville.
