Luke Radick was arrested following a string of afternoon bank robberies in Bensalem, Morrisville and Yardley.
Pennsylvania authorities arrested a Howell man who allegedly tried to rob three banks in three towns along the Delaware River yesterday afternoon, Bensalem, Pa. police said.
Luke Radick, 26, was arrested on East Bridge Street in Morrisville, Pa., after unsuccessfully trying to rob two banks and robbing a third over a 90-minute period yesterday, Bensalem police said.
Just before the bank robbery spree, Radick had been released from Bucks County, Pa., prison for unrelated offenses involving bad checks after his sister posted bail, police said.
Among the evidence found on Radick at the time of the arrest was his bail release form. He used the back of the form to write his note demanding money, which he had presented to tellers at all three banks, police said.
Radick began his robbery attempts at about 12:15 p.m. when he entered the Sovereign Bank branch located at 1425 Street Road in Bensalem and handed the bank teller the note demanding money, police said.
He then traveled to the Sovereign branch at 95 Main St. in Yardley, Pa., and finally to the Wells Fargo bank at 2 E. Bridge St. in Morrisville, police said. Out of the three banks, Radick only received money from the Yardley bank, which gave him a small amount of cash, police said.
Radick is being held at the Bensalem Police Department. The FBI, which worked on this case along with the police departments of all three towns, will be looking into possible federal charges, officials said.
