A woman who police say propositioned an undercover officer for sex and another woman who allegedly ran the prostitution ring were arrested last Thursday.
LAWRENCE — A woman who police say propositioned an undercover officer for sex and another woman who allegedly ran the prostitution ring were arrested last Thursday, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said.
During a two-month investigation, undercover officers were solicited for sex by women working in an office at 88 Lakedale Dr., the prosecutor’s office said.
Officers executed a search warrant there and seized $274, ledgers and notes. A 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser was seized as proceeds, the prosecutor’s office said.
Sha Liu, 32, of Flushing, N.Y., was arrested and charged with engaging in prostitution, a disorderly persons offense, and released on a summons.
The manager of the office, 55-year-old Yuzhu Zhou, was arrested and charged with maintaining a house of prostitution and running a sexually oriented business. She was released on $60,000 bail.
Officers searched Zhou’s Dogwood Drive home and found a safe with $26,470 in cash in a bedroom closet. An additional $250 in cash, notes, ledgers, a laptop computer, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a dirt bike and a 2009 Lexus RX3 were seized as proceeds, the prosecutor’s office said.
