Investigators from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Trenton police and the city’s fire marshal were called to the scene at 44 McKinley Ave after tenants told firefighters they believed the fire may have been started by someone with whom they had a dispute, Battalion Chief David Turner said.

TRENTON — Law enforcement officials are investigating a suspicious fire that was sparked on the back porch of a home on McKinley Avenue tonight

Investigators from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Trenton police and the city’s fire marshal were called to the scene at 44 McKinley Ave after tenants told firefighters they believed the fire may have been started by someone with whom they had a dispute, Battalion Chief David Turner said.
“They tenants said they were having problems with a particular individual,” Turner said.
The fire, which started on the back porch of the two-level home, was extinguished quickly after crews were called to the scene at approximately 7:15 p.m., Turner said. No one was injured during the incident.
Fire officials did not have information on the cause of the fire. The incident was still under investigation last night and no charges had been filed.
