Each remains in jail in lieu of $1 million bail, officials said.

TRENTON – A Mercer County grand jury returned a seven-count indictment Wednesday, charging two Trenton men with the January 2013 shooting death of 35-year-old Andre Corbett, according to a press release from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

Keith Wells-Holmes, 21, and Zihqwan Clemens, 23, were each indicted on one count of murder, one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun, the release said.

Clemens was also indicted on four narcotics charges for heroin seized from his residence during the course of the murder investigation, the release said. Clemens acted as a getaway driver.

Corbett was shot several times by Wells-Holmes while standing outside an apartment complex near the corner of Hoffman Avenue and Oakland Street on Jan. 21, 2013, officials said.

Mortally wounded, Corbett collapsed on the concrete doorstep of the housing project building in the city’s West Ward, police said.

Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene, and as police began their investigation, his body remained covered with a white sheet, police said.

Both Wells-Holmes and Clemens remain in jail in lieu of $1 million bail each.
