No arrests have been made, but police released descriptions of three suspects. No one was injured during the home invasion Friday evening.
EAST WINDSOR – Detectives are investigating an armed home invasion in which a 22-year-old was beaten and tied up with duct tape while men went through his apartment and made off with personal property, police said.
The suspects in the home invasion Friday evening at the Princeton Arms North I apartment complex gained entry to the residence by yelling the name of the 22-year-old’s stepfather while ringing the doorbell, according to police.
When the 22-year-old, who was home alone at the time, opened the door, one of the suspects punched him in the face and knocked him to the floor. The three suspects then allegedly forced their way inside.
All three men were armed with handguns, according to police. One of the suspects guarded the 22-year-old, who was tied up by his hands and ankles with duct tape.
Police did not specify what the suspects took before they departed, but said the resident was uninjured. Three other people live in the apartment, but were not home when the home invasion began around 7:30 p.m.
Police described the first suspect as a heavyset black male, 6-foot-3, in his mid-40s with a mustache and beard and wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and tan boots. The second suspect was a black male with a thin build, 5-foot-7, wearing a black hat, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black sneakers, while the third suspect was described as a black male, thin build, 5-foot-11, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white sneakers.
