The 19-year-old city resident was wounded by a single shot fired in the Donnelly Homes housing project Friday night.
TRENTON – A 19-year-old city man was shot in the leg during apparently random gunfire at the Donnelly Homes housing project Friday night, police said.
A single shot that rang out around 8:30 p.m. struck the teen, who was standing outside in a parking lot.
“The victim had no idea why he was shot or who might have shot him,” said Lt. Mark Kieffer, a police spokesman.
Officers were sent to the parking lot on a reported shooting in progress and found the victim there. He was taken by ambulance to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
Doctors found the teen had a fractured femur from the bullet wound, which was not believed to be life-threatening.
Police had no suspect description today.
Anyone with information on the crime should call police at (609) 989-4170 or the Confidential Tip Line at (609) 989-3663.
