A city man died Tuesday after allegedly being stabbed in the abdomen by his ex-girlfriend Saturday night, officials said.
Edna White TRENTON — A city man died Tuesday after allegedly being stabbed in the abdomen by his ex-girlfriend Saturday night, officials said.
Dwelle Jerome Clark’s death has not been ruled a homicide and an autopsy is pending, but the Mercer County Homicide Task Force is now investigating, said Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman for the county prosecutor’s office.
Trenton police responded to Clark’s home on the first block of Heil Avenue Saturday night on report of a stabbing in process, DeBlasio said. When police arrived they found Clark bleeding from a stab wound to his abdomen, she said.
Clark, 55, told police that his ex-girlfriend, Edna White, 56, stabbed him with a kitchen knife, DeBlasio said. He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where he died Tuesday, she said.
White was arrested Saturday charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses, but had not been charged with murder as of last night, DeBlasio said.
She is being held on $75,000 bail at the Mercer County Correction Center and is scheduled to appear in court later this week, DeBlasio said.
