Two men were shot today outside the after-hours night club on the 900 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard where a city man died and others were seriously injured yesterday morning, officials said.

TRENTON — One city man is critically wounded and another was injured today when shots were fired toward an impromptu memorial at the illegal, after-hours night club on Martin Luther King Boulevard where another city man died and others were seriously injured early Saturday morning, officials said.

A 44-year-old Trenton man is in extremely critical condition tonight after being shot in the head around 4 p.m. while sitting inside an SUV parked outside 919 Martin Luther King Blvd., Saturday’s homicide scene, said Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman for the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

“Multiple rounds were fired into the SUV," DeBlasio said. "The SUV was struck multiple times."

The unidentified man was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton by the driver of the vehicle, she said.

Another man, identified as a 21-year-old city resident, was shot in the hand while standing in a group of about 20 mourners gathered near the memorial site, Police Lt. Steve Varn said. That victim was transported by ambulance to Capital Health in Trenton, treated and released, DeBlasio said.

“Witness reports indicate there was one shooter that approached the area on foot who fired at the SUV and at the group of people, and fled,” DeBlasio said.

Police are investigating whether Saturday’s shootings are related to today’s incident, she said. No arrests have been made in either case.

“They are investigating possible ties,” DeBlasio said. All avenues are being investigated, including the possibility of gang ties, she said.

In Saturday’s attack at the after-hours club, Charles White, 43, was shot in the head and pronounced dead hours later, DeBlasio said.

Several others were injured, including a 30-year-old Ewing man shot in the heart, lung and lower extremities who remains in critical condition tonight at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, Varn said.

Police were called out to the establishment just before 5 a.m. on Saturday and found four people shot, First Assistant Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said. All of the gunfire occurred inside the building, DeBlasio said.

White “had ties” to the establishment, DeBlasio said, but it is unclear whether he lived in an apartment above the building.

“Investigators obtained and executed search warrants last night for the establishment, and the New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Unit processed and photographed the scene,” she said.

A 23-year-old city woman who was shot in the right shoulder and a 30-year-old Trenton man who was shot in the ankle were in stable condition at the hospital today, DeBlasio said.

A 28-year-old city woman was severely burned by grease from a deep fryer she bumped into while fleeing the gunfire Saturday. She was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, Onofri said.

A 26-year-old city woman also suffered minor burns on her legs from the grease, Onofri said.

The city’s inspections department will be notified of the illegal club tomorrow, and the Martin Luther King Boulevard club, along with any others found to be operating illegally will be shut down, Mayor George Muschal said.

Both investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information should call the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force at (609) 989-6406 or the Trenton police Confidential Tip Line at (609) 989-3663.
