An armed suspect,described as a 6-foot-tall black male wearing a ski mask and gray hooded sweatshirt, shot an employee in the leg at the Giant Mini Mart on Lalor Street, Hamilton police said.
HAMILTON — Police are investigating a Sunday afternoon armed robbery and assault at a Lalor Street convenience store.
Just before 2 p.m. Sunday, an armed suspect — described as a 6-foot-tall black male wearing a ski mask and gray hooded sweatshirt — entered the Giant Mini Mart, shouting "give me all your money" to an employee, a news release from the Hamilton Township Police Division said.
The suspect and employee got into a "scuffle" as the suspect removed cash from the register and the suspect shot the employee in the right leg, police said.
The suspect fled the store and was last seen running toward Dayton Avenue.
The employee was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment.
