Police seized 10.5 ounces of PCP, 117 grams of powder cocaine, 38 grams of crack cocaine, 180 decks of heroin, nearly 2.5 ounces of marijuana, four Xanax pills and 5 grams of raw heroin from two Trenton homes.
TRENTON — One of three people arrested recently in a police raid that produced a plethora of drugs with a street value of just under $30,000 will need to post full cash bail of $75,000 in order to leave the Mercer County Correction Center.
Patricia Ball, 40, of Trenton, came before Mercer County Superior Court Judge Thomas Brown today in connection with the April 10 incident, in which police seized 10.5 ounces of PCP, 117 grams of powder cocaine, 38 grams of crack cocaine, 180 decks of heroin, nearly 2.5 ounces of marijuana, four Xanax pills, 5 grams of raw heroin and digital scales and baggies from two Trenton homes.
Along with Trenton resident Tarrance Sapp, 38, Ball was located inside an Atterbury Street residence police had a warrant to search in connection with a third person, Trenton resident Darnell Bassant, 47. That apartment contained the baggies and about half of the drugs, which were located throughout the residence, and Ball was charged with several possession counts, including intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school.
At the bail conference yesterday, public defender Jumba Mugwanya argued that Ball was not a flight risk and mentioned potential issues with how the search of the apartment was conducted. While Brown lowered her bail from $150,000, he removed the bond option and said that if she were to post the $75,000 in cash, the origin of the money would be investigated.
