WEST WINDSOR — A 24-year-old Trenton man stopped for making an improper turn was arrested Tuesday on multiple heroin and weapons-related charges, police said.
Aramis Jermaine Wiggins was pulled over in the Target parking lot on Nassau Park Boulevard. Patrolman Chris VanNess saw contraband in the car while interviewing Wiggins. When VanNess attempted to retrieve it, Wiggins initiated a physical confrontation with him. He then got out of the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene, but was apprehended and found to be in possession of a large quantity of heroin.
A search of the vehicle found a Glock handgun with high capacity magazines and hollow point bullets.
Wiggins was charged with possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of weapons during commission of certain crimes, prohibited weapon (defaced firearm), hollow point bullets, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of large capacity magazines, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction.
Wiggins was taken to the Mercer County jail on $355,000 bail.
