TRENTON — A city man was arrested and $1,000 in Ecstasy was seized Monday when Mercer County authorities completed a two-month drug investigation, officials said.
Isaiah Robinson, 35, was in his apartment on the 100 block of Garfield Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. when the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force executed search warrants for the home, the county prosecutor’s office said in a release.
Robinson was alerted to the officers’ presence and fled out the back door, allegedly throwing Ecstasy on the ground before he was apprehended near his backyard, the office said.
Law enforcement officers searched the apartment and found 96 pills of Ecstasy, $386 and two digital scales on the property, the office said.
Robinson has been charged with drug possession, intent to distribute, intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park, hindering apprehension and possession of drug paraphernalia, the office said. He was also charged with maintaining a fortified structure because his door could be reinforced with a metal or wood beam.
He is being held in the Mercer County Correction Center in lieu of $150,000 bail.
Lt. Mike Novembre, who headed the investigation, said the estimated street value of the Ecstasy found at the apartment is $1,000.
