Mercer County narcotics detectives arrested four people and seized $80,000 in heroin, two weapons and cash, authorities said

TRENTON — Mercer County narcotics detectives arrested four people and seized $80,000 in heroin, two weapons and cash, authorities said.

On April 29, officers with the prosecutor’s office, county sheriff’s office, New Jersey State Police TEAMS and the Ewing, Hamilton, Lawrence and Trenton police executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Fulton Street in Trenton.

Anthony Irizarry, 27, of Trenton, and Tahira Fletcher, 24, of Ewing, were arrested without incident in the first-floor apartment after more than 8,000 decks of heroin were found throughout the apartment in shoeboxes, a hamper and on shelves, authorities said.

Police found a fully loaded, stolen Tec-9 assault weapon with an extended magazine on a closet shelf in the kitchen and a loaded .32-caliber revolver in a cabinet in the detached garage. They also found additional decks of heroin, a small amount of marijuana, syringes and glassine bags used to package heroin in the garage. Cash totaling $1,858 was found throughout the apartment and three-flat screen televisions were seized. A search of Irizarry revealed $3,663.

Lt. Mike Novembre, who led the investigation for the task force, estimated the heroin would sell for $80,840 on the street.

Irizarry and Fletcher are each charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute, possession with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park, possession of an assault rifle, possession of a high-capacity magazine, receiving stolen property, two counts of possession of a firearm with committing a narcotics offense, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

George Martinez, 21, and George Otero, 23, both of Hamilton, were found in Irizarry’s backyard and also taken into custody. Each is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute, possession with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a park, possession of a firearm with committing a narcotics offense, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Irizarry’s bail was set at $250,000. Fletcher’s bail was set at $100,000. Bail was set for Martinez and Otero at $75,000 each. All four are being held at the Mercer County Correction Center.
