TRENTON — Members of the Special Investigations Unit arrested a Trenton man Tuesday and confiscated cash, cocaine and a handgun from his residence, police said.

Officers pulled over and detained Corey Burke, 41, who was the target of the drug investigation, near the intersection of South Broad and Federal streets around 3:30 p.m. and obtained a search warrant for his Washington Street residence.

During the search, investigators found a loaded H&K .45-caliber handgun in Burke’s living room under a couch pillow and .45-caliber bullets in a diaper, police said. A plastic bag with 10 grams of powder cocaine was found in a kitchen drawer along with a small amount of marijuana and a digital scale, officials said.

Officials said they also found $1,161 in cash in a coffee pot and $400 cash in a bedroom nightstand. Burke also had $165 at the time of his arrest, police said.

Burke was charged with drug possession with the intent to distribute and weapons offenses. He is being held at the Mercer County Correction Center in lieu of $125,000 bail.
