Trenton teenager charged in death of man shot through window

The teenager was taken into custody on March 2 for unrelated robbery charges and charged with the homicide on Wednesday, Lt. Steve Varn said.

Luis Bryan Alvarez, 25, died in his home on the 200 block of Fulton Street in Trenton on Feb. 26 following an argument with a man who had approached his front door, police said.





 

TRENTON — A 17-year-old has been charged with aggravated murder in the death of man who was shot through the window of his home last month, police said.

Luis Bryan Alvarez, 25, of Trenton was shot inside his home on the 200 block of Fulton Street in the Chambersburg section late on the night of Feb. 26 and died of his wounds the same day.

Police did not releasing the name of the suspect because he is a juvenile. The teenager was taken into custody on March 2 for unrelated robbery charges and charged with the homicide on Wednesday, Lt. Steve Varn said.

Police said Alvarez was shot during the course of a robbery by the teen, who fired a gun into the house from the street. One bullet went through a first floor window and struck Alvarez, fatally wounding him.

Police said previously that Alvarez had had a confrontation with somebody who came to his door. Alvarez shut the door on the person and was back inside his home when he was struck by a bullet.
