Jamere Cullers, 21, was arrested in front of the house on the first block of Webster Street where his mother was inside hyperventilating
TRENTON – A cursing, yelling man who allegedly menaced city firefighters Wednesday has been charged with simple assault for allegedly punching his mother’s friend, police said.
Jamere Cullers, 21, was arrested in front of the house on the first block of Webster Street where his mother was inside hyperventilating. Firefighters said he was shouting at them to treat his mother but simultaneously blocking the door and body-checking them.
Before they arrived, Cullers had punched a woman inside the house in the face, causing a contusion, according to police. Seeing her friend hit by her son, Cullers apparently suffered the medical condition initially diagnosed as a heart attack.
Despite having to wait through a police shift change for officers to arrive, no punches were thrown and no one else was injured. Officers arrested Cullers on the spot and charged him with the simple assault domestic violence charge and an outstanding warrant.
