TRENTON — A city police officer was indicted by a grand jury today on charges of official misconduct for allegedly using excessive force during an arrest in February last year.
Nidia Colon, 28, of Willingboro faces five to 10 years in state prison if convicted of the second-degree charge, said Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman for the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.
Prosecutors said Colon used excessive force during an arrest on Feb. 12, 2012 at the La Guira Bar on North Clinton Avenue.
