MONROE — A township man who allegedly hindered a police investigation into his father’s death was arrested today, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Authorities will perform an autopsy on Ronald Grossman, 65, to determine the cause of his death. His son Andrew Grossman, 37, was charged with tampering with evidence and hindering an investigation and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The prosecutor’s office did not specify what the younger Grossman is alleged to have done. Ronald Grossman died inside the home the two share on South Rhoda Street, and was not discovered until police obtained a search warrant and entered the house last night.
Ronald Grossman was pronounced dead at 1:02 a.m. today, the prosecutor’s office said.
Police were first notified something was awry when a friend of Ronald Grossman’s called and said he was concerned when he was not able to contact Grossman. A missing persons report was filed, and police made several stops at the Grossman residence before finally getting the search warrant.
