MANCHESTER — A 76-year-old man found killed in his trailer Monday suffered head trauma but the manner of his death remains unknown, the Ocean County Prosecutor's office said today.
An autopsy was scheduled for today but has not been completed, prosecutor’s office spokesman Al Della Fave said.
Officers were called to Anthony "Tony" Verdicchio's trailer in the Pine Acres Manor Mobile Home Park just after 5 p.m. Monday after his friends grew worried when he didn't show up for a planned coffee meeting. They had gone to his trailer to investigate and found him unresponsive, Della Fave said.
Manchester Township police are interested in speaking with anybody who saw Verdicchio between 10 a.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday.
Anybody with information is asked to contact the police at (732) 657-6111.
